Manchester United Derails Barcelona’s Plans

The Spanish newspaper "Sport" claims that FC Barcelona is in a state of dissent after Manchester United managed to snatch the Slovenian forward Benjamin Šeško from their hands, with this deal being seen as a heavy blow against the future plans for the Catalan team.

Šeško was identified in the report as main transfer target of sporting director Deco and FC Barcelona chiefs as long-term replacement for Polish star Robert Lewandowski by summer 2026.

And with the loss of this agreement, it is a major set-back in strategic terms for Barcelona, and as such they will now begin to cast their net elsewhere to try and strengthen an area within their line-up that has become crucial.

Among Barcelona's main objectives next summer to strengthen their attack is Atlético Madrid striker Julian Alvarez.

It has to be mentioned, however, that Šeško made his move to Manchester United this summer for a fee of €76 million plus additional €8.5 million in bonuses with a contract until the summer of 2030.
